Maria Bonita ("Pretty Maria") is considered one of the most famous Mexican actresses of the golden era of Mexican Cinema. Born Maria Felix (April 8, 1914), she later became honored with the name La Dona. She starred in nearly fifty movies over her 30 year career (1940's-1970's) and has been compared with Marilyn Monroe in the United States because of her strong, sexy characters and her well-publicized love life.
